INDEMNITY & CODE OF CONDUCT
The risk of injury is inherent in the practice of most forms of sport. The safety of each of our members is of utmost importance to LINHILL Celtic Football Club. The Committee, Coaches and Managers will take all reasonable precautionary measures to provide a safe training and playing facility.
A signed indemnity form is required by the LINHILL Celtic Football Club member required prior to the commencement of participation. By checking the Indemnity and Consent Box below, with all fields checked and completed, you hereby confirm that:
- You will be training and playing at LINHILL Celtic Football Club.
- You are aware of the correct clothing and equipment requirements.
- This indemnity form agreement is valid and effective for the full duration of training and playing at LINHILL Celtic Football Club.
- This indemnity is binding on you, or any other person who acts on your behalf.
You agree that by your participation in the sport provided by LINHILL Celtic Football Club, you hereby assume all risks, dangers and all responsibility from any losses and/or damages, whether caused in whole or in part by the negligence or other conduct of the Committee, Coaches and Managers or by any other person.
You agree to absolve and not hold responsible LINHILL Celtic Football Club, as well as its Committee, Coaches, Manager or any other person associated with LINHILL Celtic Football Club for any losses, damages, injuries, mishaps, medical issues and/or any other consequences of your decision to participate in the sport, as per details mentioned above.
You understand that no financial and/or legal claims can be made against LINHILL Celtic Football Club. for the prior mentioned issues.
You understand and agree to follow all safety rules, regulations and procedures. In the event that that such rules and procedures are not followed by yourself, or others, it could result in your injury or death.
You authorise the use of your photos, video, name, comment, game result, etc. for promotional purposes by LINHILL Celtic Football Club. in accordance with the POPIA Act.
You grant permission for medical treatment to be administered, and accept responsibility for such costs, which will be payable on request. The team Manager/Coach/Assistant may provide reasonable, adequate assistance in the event of an emergency.
You hereby indemnify LINHILL Celtic Football Club., Committee, Coaches, Managers and Representatives against any claim whatsoever that may arise during or as a result of your participation at LINHILL Celtic Football Club..
You confirm that you have read the indemnity form and that you understand the content and potential consequences thereof.
PARENT/SUPPORTER CODE OF CONDUCT
Parents:
- Ensure that your child is on time for practice, games and tournaments as arranged by the Coach and /or Team Manager.
- Ensure that you child is appropriately dressed for practice, games and tournaments. The correct full kit as supplied, must be worn to all games and tournaments.
- Always ensure that your child wears regulation football boots and shin pads during practice, games and tournaments.
- Ensure all Fees and obligations due to LINHILL Celtic Football Club are paid in full.
- Drop off and fetch your child timeously while attending practice and games.
- Make appropriate travel arrangements for your child for any away games or tournaments.
- A parent should always behave professionally and any criticism he/she feels the Coach should be made aware of should be done directly with the Coach and/or addressed in writing to the Committee Members.
- Assist the Coach / Assistant Coach with discipline concerning your child.
- Help your child understand the rules and how to play by them.
- Parents, enjoy the game and not the result of the game.
Parents & Supporters:
- Endeavour to praise effort and performance more than the result.
- Praise good behaviour quickly to show you value it.
- Always show respect and sportsmanship for both the opposition as well as your own team.
- During training and matches, refrain from verbal or physical abuse of the match officials and the opposition.
- STAY OFF THE PITCH, during games and practices.
- Where possible, support LINHILL Celtic Football Club events and fundraising.
- Help Players/Fellow Team Members arrive on time for practices and games.
- Abide by the decision of the Coach and LINHILL Celtic Football Club.
- Respect all facilities provided at LINHILL Celtic Football Club. Where possible, help to maintain and improve the Club and its facilities.
- Please note that LINHILL Celtic Football Club has a zero tolerance policy toward racism.
Respect towards Match Officials
A parent should:
- Accept the decisions of the Match Official without protest.
- Avoid words or actions which may mislead a Match Official.
- Show due respect towards Match Officials.
Respect towards Team Officials:
A parent should:
- Abide by the instructions of his Coach and Team Officials, provided they do not contradict the spirit of this code.
- Show due respect towards the Team Officials of the opposition.
NOTE: Under no circumstances will the use of profanity or obscene gestures be tolerated against any fellow player, opposition, match officials, spectators or own coaches and managers on or off the field.
Any contravention of the above stated code of conduct will result in a disciplinary hearing and immediate suspension pending the outcome of such process.
If an official disciplinary hearing is convened by any association and a fine is imposed on the club then the cost of the hearing plus the cost of the fine will be for the offender’s own account, failure to pay such account will result in immediate expulsion from the club.
PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT
Players are the most important people in the sport. Playing for the team is the most fundamental part of the game. Fair Play and respect for others in the game is fundamentally important.
This Code of Conduct is valid for players at all levels of the game.
A player should:
Have obligations towards the game
- Make every effort to develop his/her own sporting abilities, in terms of skill, technique, tactics and stamina.
- Give maximum effort and strive for the best possible performance during a game, even if his/her team is in a position where the desired result has already been achieved.
- Set a positive example for others, particularly young players and supporters.
- Avoid all forms of gamesmanship, and time-wasting.
- Always have regard to the best interests of the game, including where publicly expressing an opinion on the game and any particular aspect of it, including others involved in the game.
- Not use inappropriate language.
Have obligations towards one's own team
- Make every effort consistent with Fair Play and the Laws of the Game to help their own team win.
- Resist any influence which may or may not seem to bring into question their commitment to the team winning.
Respect the Laws of the Game and competition rules
- Know and abide by the laws, rules and spirit of the game, and the competition rules.
- Accept success and failure, victory and defeat, equally.
- Resist any temptation to take banned substances or use banned techniques.
Respect Opponents
- Treat opponents with due respect at all times, irrespective of the result of the game.
- Safeguard the physical fitness of opponents, avoid violence and rough play, and help injured opponents.
Respect Match Officials
- Accept the decisions of the Match Official without protest.
- Avoid words or actions which may mislead a Match Official.
- Show due respect towards Match Officials.

1.At Linhill, our foremost priority is the development of your children. When you bring them to our program, you can trust that they are being trained to compete effectively in matches and league games. Our coaches are highly qualified and equipped to determine if your child is fit to play.
2.It is imperative that parents maintain open communication with coaches and managers to stay informed about their child's progress throughout the season.
3.Parents must not interfere with the coach’s decisions regarding player participation and position in matches or league tournaments.
4.We expect all children to attend training at the designated times. Any absences must be communicated to the coaches or managers promptly.
5.All life-threatening health issues must be disclosed to ensure that we are prepared for emergencies. Parents are responsible for keeping all contact details, home addresses, and emergency contacts up to date so we can respond swiftly in any situation.
6.We have a zero-tolerance policy for any disrespect or negative attitudes toward our coaches and managers from children or parents affiliated with Linhill. The coaches and managers have the final authority in all matters.
